Twerking 101: Learn to Twerk Day: Every Saturday from September 26th to October 31st, Showcase on week of November 7th Time: 1:00-2:00pm Age Range: 18 and Up Price: $15 Per Class or $75 For The Semester (6 Weeks + 9th Week Showcase) Description: Have you always wanted to throw that booty, but never knew how? This 6 week course is for anyone who wants to twerk, starting from the absolute beginning. In a very supportive, fun and judgement-free environment, we will focus on fundamental twerking technique. Each week will focus on a new technique or position, including (but not limited to) booty shaking and twerking with hands on knees. Twerk skills help you express yourself, build confidence, help you feel more comfortable in your body, and feel sexy. Every class will begin with strengthening of our hips and glutes, stretching, and range of motion exercises. Once our glutes and hips are activated and flexible, we will build on our Twerk Journey. Each class builds on the last class, so you are welcome to join any time, but you will benefit most from attending the full series. You will need: - Shorts, ideally short shorts (avoid compression fabrics) - Yoga mat - Circular booty band (I recommend fabric bands at light or medium resistance, here is an example on amazon: https://a.co/d/0bgIyuCQ) - optional: a yoga block or pillow to support you during hip mobility drills Maria is the principal dance instructor for Dr. Slay Fitness, a hip hop cardio dance experience.
