About the event

A Full Performing Arts Intensive in One Week

The PACC Spring Performing Arts Camp is not a sit-and-watch camp. It is a hands-on, high-energy intensive where students actively create in all four performing arts disciplines: dance, theatre, music, and film.

From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day, March 9 through March 13, campers will rotate through focused sessions that build skills, confidence, teamwork, and creativity. By the end of the week, they will have original material in every discipline and will bring it all together in an exciting final showcase at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 13.

This camp is designed for ages 8–15 and is structured to challenge beginners while still stretching experienced performers.

What They’ll Learn and Create

🎭 Theatre

Students will learn the foundations of acting and stage performance, including:

  • Voice projection and articulation

  • Stage presence and movement

  • Character development

  • Emotional expression

  • Improvisation and ensemble work

Campers will create short scenes and scripted pieces throughout the week. They will collaborate in small groups, develop characters, rehearse with coaching, and perform fully staged scenes in the showcase. Students won’t just memorize lines. They will learn how to understand their character, make strong choices, and perform with confidence.

💃 Dance

In dance sessions, campers will explore:

  • Basic technique and body control

  • Musicality and rhythm

  • Choreography building

  • Performance energy

  • Group formations and staging

Students will learn original choreography created specifically for the camp. They will also get the opportunity to help create movement, make artistic choices, and understand how dance tells a story. The final performance number is always high-energy and polished, and parents are often amazed at how much students accomplish in only a few days.

🎵 Music

Music sessions focus on both learning and creating. Campers will:

  • Learn vocal techniques and warm-ups

  • Practice harmony and group singing

  • Explore rhythm and basic songwriting

  • Develop performance confidence

Students may work on group songs, rhythm exercises, and even original lyrics. They will learn how to blend voices, listen to one another, and perform musically as a team. Whether your child already sings or is just discovering their voice, this environment encourages growth and creativity.

🎬 Film

Film is where creativity meets technology. Campers will:

  • Learn basic camera and framing concepts

  • Understand simple acting-for-camera techniques

  • Help develop a short film concept

  • Perform on camera

  • Participate in basic filming and production

Students will collaborate to create short filmed segments that will be shown during the showcase. They’ll see how storytelling shifts from stage to screen and learn how performance changes when the camera is close.

The Final Showcase

The showcase at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 13 is unlike anything you expect from a one-week camp. Families will see:

  • Fully staged theatre scenes

  • Choreographed dance performances

  • Group musical numbers

  • Original film segments created during the week

Every year, parents leave asking the same question: “How did they learn all of that in one week?”

The answer is simple. Focused instruction. High expectations. Creative energy. And students who rise to the occasion.
