W7D Film Competition – Waco’s 7-Day Filmmaking ChallengeReady to put your creativity to the test? Welcome to the W7D Film Competition, Waco’s ultimate filmmaking showdown. Starting on Sept 24, participants will gather to receive all the official competition details and launch into an intense week of creativity. From there, filmmaking teams have exactly 7 days to write, shoot, edit, and produce an original short film from start to finish.
If you don’t already have a team, you can come to the kickoff event and connect with other filmmakers—there will be plenty of opportunities to join forces and create something amazing.
On Day 9, the completed films will premiere in a live public screening, where an audience and panel of judges will determine the winners. Awards, bragging rights, and unforgettable memories are all on the line.
This is a fast-paced, pressure-filled, and wildly fun chance to showcase your storytelling skills, meet fellow creatives, and see your work come to life on the big screen. Whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker or a bold beginner, the W7D Film Competition is your chance to make movie magic in a single week!
