About the event
Step into the world of theatrical combat with the Stage Combat Workshop at The Performing Arts Community Center.
This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of safe, choreographed stage combat, focusing on how to create the illusion of violence while prioritizing control, trust, and storytelling. Through guided instruction and physical practice, students will learn how stage combat differs from real fighting and how movement, timing, and intention bring scenes to life.
Participants will explore techniques such as basic strikes, reactions, spacing, and choreography, all while emphasizing communication, safety protocols, and ensemble awareness. The workshop is designed to be approachable for beginners while still offering valuable insight for performers with prior experience.
Perfect for actors, performers, and anyone interested in the physical side of storytelling, the Stage Combat Workshop builds confidence, physical awareness, and performance skills that translate directly to the stage.
Come learn how to fight without throwing a punch, and discover how movement can elevate a scene while keeping everyone safe.
